Colorado has a law on the books that says, in simple terms, a business open to the public can’t discriminate against gay people.

The radical right-wing majority of the US Supreme Court issued a ruling last week saying that, yes, it can.

The court took the side of a web designer in Colorado who said it was her First Amendment right to refuse to design wedding websites for same-sex couples.

Arizona has a law much like Colorado’s.

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes announced in no uncertain terms that her office is determined to enforce it.

Kathleen Folbigg pardoned after 20 years in jail over killing her four children

Twenty years after she was imprisoned for killing her four children, Kathleen Folbigg has been pardoned and released from jail.

NSW Attorney-General Michael Daley told a packed media conference that he had received the preliminary findings of a recent inquiry headed by retired chief justice Tom Bathurst.

Alex Jones Attorney Hit With Nearly $100K Sanction Over Sandy Hook Pretrial Misconduct

An attorney who represented conspiracy theorist Alex Jones in a defamation case has been ordered to pay nearly $100,000 in sanctions for his misconduct leading up to the trial he lost.

Texas attorney Andino Reynal was ordered to pay $97,169 last month to the parents of a child killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting after Judge Maya Guerra Gamble determined in January that Reynal had violated court proceedings during his attempts to delay the trial by filing bankruptcy for Jones’ far-right misinformation site Infowars.

Memphis commit Mikey Williams’ attorney releases statement on arrest

On Friday, the high school basketball world was rocked by the news that Memphis committed Mikey Williams had been arrested on five charges of assault with a deadly weapon on Thursday afternoon.

Ranked No. 17 overall in the class of 2023 by 247Sports.com, the 6-foot-3 combo guard has been released on $50.00o bail and is awaiting an April 20th court appearance.

Missing Largo lawyer Steve Cozzi’s family, friends gather for vigil

st. PETERSBURG — Through the surge of phone calls and texts following the disappearance of Pinellas County attorney Steven Cozzi, Michael Steven Montgomery said he’s felt like he’s met his husband a second time.

Montgomery had heard stories in those calls about Cozzi, he had not before his husband went missing. He said even while he was waiting for answers on what happened to his husband, learning more about Cozzi had been a gift.

New prosecutor added to US Attorney’s Office in Martinsburg | USAO-NDWV

MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A new prosecutor has joined the US Attorney’s Office to assist with the increasing criminal caseload in the Eastern Panhandle.

United States Attorney William Ihlenfeld announced the addition of Daniel Salem to his Martinsburg office. Salem has been a prosecutor for nine years, first with Harford County (MD), then with the Baltimore City State’s Attorney, and finally with the Maryland Office of the Attorney General. He handled a heavy caseload of homicides, drug trafficking, and organized crime, and led wiretap investigations in collaboration with the Mid-Atlantic OCDETF Task Force.
